I know, this must seem like a very barmy rant, but I believe it to be essential that we all learn that, though helping others can increase a group's success rate, there has to be somewhere where we draw the line. For instance, though the "we must help the poor" mentality is a fine one to have, making yourself poor in the process is just gonna end up complicating matters. Likewise, I suggest we do away with the following ideas:
"we must help the old" (Trust me...when I'm 70, the only help I want is for someone to pull the trigger.)
"we must help the retarts, and even out the school system" (hmm..can someone say, "polluted gene pool?")
"we must help those who can not help themselves." (um..no...if they can't help themselves, then how are they supposed to help society.)
Hard as it may sound, people, its true: we've gone from being tyrannical to being a world of slaves, in which we no longer have the dignity of a master. Everyone's working their asses off to save the underdog, but all we're doing is second guessing nature (clarification: survival of the fittest. not the most popular). I mean, if I see one more sign for little crack addict Jimmy who needs to raise money to go through rehab, I'm gonna be sick. The same goes for all those Freddies and Sallies and Petes who are "terminally ill" and need money so that they can enjoy life to the fullest in their last few years.
Now, I said that psych movies brought on this rant. Partially true. But a good deal of it also goes to those damn people in Union Square screamin' an'a hollerin' about these disabled people.
I mean, yeah, its sad. Yeah, life's not fair. But is it our place to make it fair? Come on! If we try to keep everyone alive longer, to equal out all of the conditions, we're not gonna make things better, but worse. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that 1.) money can only be spread so thin, 2.) some of these people just don't deserve to live, and 3.) equality is laughable in a capitalist country, because money creates its own forms of inequality. If you want everything to be equal, look at the communists. To be equal is to stagnate. Yes, its a pretty idea, but thats all it is: an idea. In our present society, under our present government, and, more importantly, with the present strain on our resources, we can only have equallity if everyone makes themselves poor. Gods! Can't anyone see that?!
If you're still reading, I'd like to appologize. This is just something that had to be said, and I was sick of it not being said. Berate me all you wish.

Vanishes, leaving a black rose behind.
Anyways, great. Now that you've showed your philosophy, don't help, then I suggest you live up to it and stop taking help as well. Don't accept any medical attention, because that would be taking of the medical staff's personal time, and going directly against the greater good of the egotists. Oh, and I hope you aren't living off your parents (as I strongly suspect you are), because damn man, they'd be better off without you. Make sure not to have any doors held up for you in town. Make sure not to ask any clerk for help in a store. Make sure to tell the professors of any classes you are attending to to just write you off as a failure. Don't submit any papers, they'd have to take time to correct them.
In closing, and I know the lack of flame tag, but you are a retard. It had to be said. [ 11-14-2003: Message edited by: Zaza ]

Impressive, heo muyashi dan. Just f'n brilliant:
blahblahblah.
One of the staff care workers chased me while pushing one of the wheelchair only ones.
I know its usually not there fault, but sticking 7-10 kids who, blunty, are retarded physically and mentally isnt fair for either group
2. Service providers don't help for free. They are being paid. That is what I was trying to get at. Everything in this country was meant to revolve around money/survival. Doctors get paid to help. Clerks get paid to help. Police get paid to keep order. If you'll notice, my entire rant was based on those that want us to help the people that can not help themselves, without any return to us, and at a greater sacrifice to ourselves. Small bits of time to help people are fine, so long as they don't conflict with a person's own survival...I just think humanity's gotten all out of hand, is all.
3. Though holding doors for people is, admittedly, without return, it doesn't harm one's self in any way. Giving in to collections for Lil' Jimmy's 5 days to live funds not only take away from your wallet, but more often then not go to line peoples pockets.
And finally,
4. No, I don't live at home, and my parents do not support me. Besides, if they had, it would be ensuring their genetic survival, which, in many ways, may be more important than a person's own survival.
Oh...and a quick question:
Whats the difference between a rant tag and a flame tag?
Flame you cuss at people on the boards, or open youself up to insult
