Only two things can sum up my response to the first 5 episodes. Poor Pedro and BWAHHAAHAHAA! One of the best series I've seen yet, even if I'm not totally sure what's even being said sometimes. On a more mangaish note, finally starting on Ranma 1/2, very good so far. That ends my post quota for this week.

... what's being said?

Excel Saga subbed > Excel Saga dubbed.

I find it easier to read than to listen, anyways. Especially when two or three people are talking at once, which is a frequent occurrence in Excel Saga.

I have the first 5 dvds...I want a plush Menchi!
Sometimes the sub is funnier, and sometimes the dub is...I like both.

That, and when they pop up sub-titles and take them down instantly, and of course when Excel forgets to use periods or spaces in her speech.
Very "inventive" series. The B-movie episode(with the helicopters on strings and such). The Sci-fi, the dating game, aw heck it's all good.
And I agree with Cheese on both the issue of sub vs. dub and the issue of Menchi(dog---creature---FOOD!!!).

I just finished watching the last of Excel Saga. It ends on epp 25.

On epp 26, they just go too far (even by Excel standards). I think my brain broke.

It's been out for a bit, yah.

When you watch it, have a bucket ready for when your brains melt out your ears.

Epp 24 has a theme I NEVER expected to see in Excel Saga: No Gags.

Actually, it was an extremely well done dub (IMO). Not to mention many episodes are very much worth watching both versions, ESPECIALLY the one featuring Sandorra the Animator. You're REALLY missing out if you don't watch both versions of that episode.

What the fuck is wrong with you? the sub was absolutely horrible. It wasn't funny at all. The puchuus were pathetic in the sub. I've watched quite a bit of the sub, and while I liked Excel's Japanese voice better, everything else about the dub was far superior in my opinion. =/

edit: this opinion is coming to you after seeing the rest of the series. AT the time of the first post I had not seen it all.

edit #2: plus I forgot that I made that first post.

All of them are in good condition (especially the last 3, since I've only watched them once). The case of the first DVD has a small (about an inch or less) cut on it, but it's not extremely noticable or anything, and on the inside, one of those little notch thingies that hold the DVD in is broken off (the DVD still stays in there fine), but I think it was like that when I got it. Overall, they're in really good condition.

Oh yeah, all of the little inserts and extra stuff are in the cases too.

I echo all statements except for the fact that the dub is better than the sub, for such is impossible.
