I bought the Cowboy Bebop DVD collection.
CBTao bought from a mall. He got every episode on 6 DVD's in a rectangular box. He paid ~$110 for it.
I imported through discountanimedvd.com. I got every episode at the same video quality with the same root menu and extra features on 3 DVD's in a trifold-case with the same artwork as the rectangular box on it. I paid $56 after S&H.
My question is: WHY?
WHY would they put the series on SIX DVD's when they could put it on three!?

Release schedule. They release it slowly, a bit at a time. Fans will buy each DVD as soon as it's out.
Later, they make the 3 DVD version. This is to appeal to those that don't want it enough to pay the price of the 6 disk version. (Also, I bet they are available ONLY as a set. If you lose/damage one, you're hosed.)
not to ay theirs anythign wrong with hkdvds, tahts what most of my anime dvds are, and cookiejarvideo is sellign the perfect bebop colectionf or only 35

That's why. These guys, like mog said, actually sell chinese bootlegs.. Not that anyone cares, it's cheap 
and http://www.import-anime.com/ has reviews of hkdvds, becosue some of them are done very badly, so its good to check first

the dvds loose cost 25-30. he got 6 dvds for 110, 25x6=150
...so how did heget ripped off again?
I wish the perfect sessions were fewer DVD's honestly. I have a 5 dvd changer, but there's 6 dvd's, meaning a bebopathon is impossible as it must be turned off at some point to switch discs. 
Besides, the last one has a description of Julia. Bah. Description of Vicious, on the other hand....
