Why would someone want to transmigrate? Like, why is it beneficial to go back to level 1 with some additional stats??

Is there a level cap?

I concur with Mog's analysis.

There are plenty of reasons to Transmigrate. Getting higher stats, getting more skills, changing to better classes that you've unlocked...Transmigrated characters may start back at level 1, but all in all they tend to grow up much stronger than the original.

Not to mention that my Galaxy-Skull-turned-Prophet is extraordinarily useful, seeing as how he has every offensive spell, plus the priest spells.

Your base stats affect how much you gain per level.

So would you rather have a level 50, or someone of equal stats on level 40? I just threw those numbers, but the idea is the same.

I'm pretty sure that's right.

My axe-toting ronin chick is more powerful than Laharl, and she is four or five levels lower. I transmigrated her from a level 10 axe warrior. She kicked the shit out of the second midboss in only three attacks!

With Transmigrating you can learn new spells not normal, ie a cleric turned to red mage will still have healing spells, along with her new fire spells, plus will gain more mana. How much of your stats you lose also depends on how you transmigrate, as in you lose a % of your stats with any level, but as it goes higher you lose less, as well as getting additional bonus points.

I hate how the thief classes don't just get a steal ability and just have to use the hands.

So its just like FFT.

So you get a class till you get the class abilities you want, then start over.

Seems good to me

My axe-wielding Ninja guy is the same way. He's incredible compared to the rest of my party, and takes out people twice his level with little trouble. I just trasmigrated him to Shinobi, so now his stats are even better! (Shinobi being the best type of Ninja)

My second best character is defenitely my spear-wielding Lord. (The highest level of Scout)

Maybe perhaps the one mentioned in the thread title?
