From the book of Ja'Deth Issar Ka'bael, chapter 3, verse 16:
So how did it all end anyway?
Buffy kills the big demon guy and chooses spike over angel. Instead of stoppin the hordes as they come, buffy realizes she has to act before the hordes gather enough strength to take over earth. She tears open the hellmouth and has willow use her powers to awaken every potential slayer in the world. That means all the potentials with her are full slayers, and they start slaughtering the vampire horde in hell. During the battle, Anya(sp)? was cut in half. BUffy was given a "mortal wound" but then regained her full strength for no reason during a conversation with the prime evil (rrright). Spike was given a talisman earlier in the show and during the end battle he begins emanating sunlight (or his soul, doesn't matter) and the vampires in hell die on mass. Spike eventually destroys himself and takes the entire town down with him. The town ends up a crater collapsed onto hell and every potential female slayer in the world has their full powers

There are still Hellmouths all over the world, though, and according to the comic book written by Joss Whedon, Buffy is killed when she's trapped in one of them.

So hey, as long as he sticks to prostitutes...
I just realized, the prophecy about the vampire with a soul fulfilling his destiny and saving the world, becoming a human. Looks like Spike will be human in Angel next season.

Fazum'Zen Fastfist had this to say about Knight Rider:
Hint: Caleb is NOT a demon, just a ridiculously strong guy, Buffy did NOT choose Angel over Spike, Willow unlocked the power within the Slayer's Scythe, indeed giving all potential Slayers full power, the wound was apparently NOT mortal, since she didn't die, it's the "first evil," not "prime evil," they don't completely mean the same thing, the talisman given from Lila to Angel to Buffy to Spike uses a vampire's restored soul to create some sort of holy light (apparently), and the Hellmouth sucks the unholy town, Sunnydale, into it, before the mouth closes. There are still Hellmouths all over the world, though, and according to the comic book written by Joss Whedon, Buffy is killed when she's trapped in one of them.
that kinda stinks, though. the end of the series seemed to give me the impression that the good vs evil battle.. the one with demons and slayers and the like, was something that was assumed to be going on forever, dictated by men. but it showed she had the power of choice and instead of simply accepting the cycle, she decided to end it. (though i'd assume the first evil is still alive) and btw, i said spike over angel, not angel over spike. if she wanted, she could have taken angel, but she didn't. i've seen very few women do something like that in real life.
I didn't know there were multiple hellmouths.... so, them "saving the world" was awakening the slayers, not "destroying" the hellmouth? as for demon, i used that as a generic term. his strength has to have been augmented somehow, as probably can be seen with him merging with the evil. I suppose he could be the "anti-slayer" for the lack of a better term.
as for hating the series, i always thought it had its cheesy charm. how many other network shows out there would make a homestar refrence? it doesn't take itself too seriously, while at the same time doesn't have too many more plotholes than most scifi series. when it was made, it was made with the understanding that a large amount of people may find it distateful, but they didn't care. it turned into a success. what impresses me the most about the series is the fact that it is the only "epic" series I am aware of other than Babylon 5 and the original start trek (that didn't finish). stuff didn't "Just happen," it followed an overall plot from the beginning and everything fell into place as part of that plot. I must say that I found the speech near the end pretty moving. Buffy talking about how everyone that could be a slayer would be a slayer. All the while showing girls feeling the power awake within them. I especially likes the one who was being abused by her husband/boyfriend/father/whatever. The look on her face when she realised she didn't have to take it was quite powerful.

Actually I think it was the eyes. I had the same thoughts. While it wasn't like you were twins or anything there was something about the eyes and shape of her face that really made me think of you.
Oh and as for the ducking and blocking..
For someone being beaten it is a normal reaction to duck out of the way and try to protect your face or body. When she realised that she could trully defend herself it was a whole new ballgame.
