I'm curious.

With my PS2 being on my network and all...is there a way for me to pull save games from my memory card, put em on my PC, then wipe em from the memory card? I'd like to be able to save space on the mem card if possible

Oh shi...

The only thing that takes up space on a PS-2 Memory card is sports games. If you don't play alot of sports games, you don't need to do this. If you do play alot of sports games, then the answer is no

The question is not whether or not I need to. Its whether or not I want to.

So...is there a way?

If you happen to have the correct network cable for your ps2, then yes you can load saved games to the comp and back again.

What would the proper network cable be, and how is this done?

You should be able to go into any store that sells PS2 extras and find a sony brand network cable, made specialy to link up two PS2s togeather. From what I know you just link up one end to your ps2, and the other end to your comp. Then without a CD inserted into the playstation 2, just turn it on and push the reset button. Somehow from the save card manager you can save to/load from the computer.

If you cant get that network cable, try using a spare USB cable to do the link up.

If it fits both ways, I wouldn't see why not.

I don't know who told you this, but you may want to verify.

You could just get the Card Readers when they come out, PSOne already has one. PS2 should follow shortly. NGC wont need it, because eventually the DigiCard Adapter will be out which lets you use a normal memory stick to save games. The same ones you use in Digital Camera's and such, which is already PC compatible.

You don't need to buy the sony brand network cable, it's just a crossover cable, which you are most likely using right now between your router and your cable modem. You are going to need to unplug your computer and your ps2 from the network and plug the directly into each other, to emulate what the default network has, and then i would assume you will need some software that allows you to access the memory card. I would look at some of the software piricy sites, they tend to have information on utilities like this.

There's a peripheral made by InterAct called the Sharkport. Let's you link up with the PS2 and move saves between your computer and the memory card.
