I have a hp pavilion with the chip set still in in (16mb) but i really need a better one i called comp usa and circit city but they said that they cant install any video card in a pavilion. my friend had his done by his father, and i cant ask him cause hes dead. any help would be appreciated

if you don't have an AGP slot, your pretty much screwed

you can get a pci based video card, but it will be noticeably inferior to a similar AGP one. My advice would be to open your case, and see if you have an agp slot, if you do, you're all fine, otherwise, it might be time to start saving for a better system....

HP Pavilions do not have AGP slots.

I've got a brand new one sitting next to me with a Geforce4 Ti 4400 in it that is, guess what, PCI.
