And I'm so scared that I wont make it in.

I have a thyroid condition, and while it is extremely mild, I get the impression from my recruiter that that could marr my otherwise spotless paperwork. It could keep me from making it in.

My recruiter gave me a speech along the lines of "what you dont tell them, cant hurt you."

For a while I was about to do so. I mean, I want in so BAD, its not even funny. Then I realized that I would not be able to live with myself if I lied my way into the armed forces. It just reeked to me, went against my grain...

So I'm going to tell the MEPs doctors about my thyroid and hope for the best. I'll probably either be so depressed I wont be able to even talk, or I'll be on cloud nine.

See you all in 2 days. Wish me luck.

Good luck.

And yes, it is best to tell them the truth.

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

Good luck.

I didn't tell them about my asthma that I had, which would have kept me from joining, but I grew out of it soon after and I've now been in for 6 1/2 yrs now. It is always better to tell the truth though, so you are doing the right thing.

I told recruiter about health, and got away from any military service.

Yeah. It secretes a chemichal that regulates hormones.

I get mild mood swings when it goes out of whack.

Hmm... Ever have them flame up for a second, causing a good amount of pain in the neck area?

No. Like I said, I have a very mild case.

The only effect I have is the mood swings, and I can control them through self discipline, and a slight swelling in my neck area if I am off the meds for a period of time.

Ok, guess you're better off than I am.

Good luck.

I know how you feel. My brother has a bad thyroid porblem. He is too overweight, irritable, and extremely hard to get along with because of all his mood changes. Glad you don't have to go through what he does.
Good luck, and hope ya make it in alright.

First Suchii now Aza. Life is tough for our Texan bachelors.
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

I failed the urine test on my visit to MEPs.

roofles

(Some stupid thing about the way my body produces protein or something.)

You smell that? Do you smell that? ...Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory.

It's good to tell the MEPs doctor the truth. If you dont, and they find out after you enlist, the best thing that could happen is you get a medical discharge, the worst is you could get thrown in federal prison with a dishonorable discharge.
Good luck, Aza
