So we were trying to figure out of my processor is going to fit in my new board. My friend wants to know if its 478 pin. I dont know, so I figure I'll just go dismantle the processor and heat sink and look.
After unlocking the heat sink, I pull it out. Much to my dismay, my processor comes with it.
My processor is 100% attacked to this heat sink. As in, Heatsink+MetalThing+Processor.
The thermal stuff has dried white. I cant even see any between the 3 levels. I cannot fit a razor blade between them (trying to seperate metal thing from heat sink).
I cannot reseat the processor in the socket because the processor is this big:
X
And the heat sink is this big:
XXX
XXX
XXX
I cant see to seat it, I cant use the lock, and in desperation, when I Tried to secure it with the heat sink straps, I failed.
I need to know how to seperate my procesor from the heat sink. =(
Why didnt you look up the stats for the processor?
But anyway.
If its really stuck, I'd say dont fuck with it. you might break it. It's not as fragile as an AMD chip is, but it aint strong.
And next time, use silver paste and don't use 2938472394857345 tons of it.

big computer companies don't (or didn't) like you messing with their equipment. half of it is SUPPOSED to be stuck...
This is true. Ever try to dismantle an older gateway? Criminy!! half the stuff is welded together!
My dad and I were trying to get it off andI was like, hey, I bet the gnoll dryer 20000 can help.
It did!
