-Would not make you jump higher or further, the jumping height and distance is fixed regardless of height. It may seem that a gnome jumps higher than a troll, but that's only because of size perspective, their absolute jumping height and distance are identical.
-Would actually make it MORE difficult to move in dungeons.
-And last but not least, except for iksar, all shamans are large races anyway.
So what exactly is the puropse for this spell? How is it beneficial? Seems not to do anything useful, except maybe to raise your perspective a little (which you can already do without a spell, just by adjusting the camera height by pressing alt and the up arrow). If anyone hear knows of or can imagine any practical application to this spell, let mw know.

Indeed. Please, don't study the use of every little thing in EQ. We should be encouraging VI to include more RP-type things like this.

That too.
Iksar zilla. Uber gnome. The frickin-HUGE ogre.
Plus, it can be used outdoors. Cast it on someone in WK, and watch them have fun with it.
And I think to myself..."Gee that's what I want to look like when I grow up!"

Gnomes, Dwarves and Halflings in certain dungeons have problems with navigation due to height. Making them as big as a Human helps quite a bit.
Um, read my post again... this can easily be fixed by simply adjusting the camera height by pressing alt-up arrow, requiring no mana or potions, or a shaman. Although I admit that is a pretty good idea for practical application. Other than that it seems like a just for fun spell.

To add to what others have said...
In my guild one of our higher warriors is a Halfling. He is usually MA actually. Putting grow on him in places like Kael and other such areas helps us see where the hell he is. He used to be hidden because every other melee was taller.

Read my post again and then try taking a Gnome or a Halfling through the Blood Pool in the basement in Unrest.

As I understand it, correct me if I'm wrong here, but grow can't make you any larger than the maximum player size. Which is not much bigger than what the default size for an ogre is anyway, do this spell won't do much for ogres. Just like shrink doesn't do much for gnomes...
I think you're right in that this spell is mostly for fun, although it could assist the smaller races in navigating certain dungeons (although as I've said, alt-up arrow can already adjusting their height persoective).
I'll give VI a point for creativity here, but it's hard understanding what they meant by this spell.
As for cancelling shrink, well you can already do this by logging off or leaving the zone, although that might no be convenient sometimes. But if you didn't want shrink, why have it cast in the first place?
On an unrelated note, I did notice they put in a Vah Shir illusion spell for enchanters, but they don't get it until level 54. I can imagine why; having a spell that makes you look like a race that has no racial tensions with anybody is EXTREMELY useful. But I think they could have given it a little lower, around 40 maybe? Oh well, worth the wait I suppose. But it makes it much higher level than any other playable race illusion.

The end.
Perverse, deserves flame.
Disgusting, deserves flame.
Saying it before anyone else, worth it.
As someone else mentioned, the blood pool in Unrest is a real bitch. So are most small holes that taller races can just walk over, small races have to jump.
Ergo, a human sized gnome doesn't have to jump to cross the same thing a normal sized gnome does. He can just walk over it like a Human.

I want one of those.
People who complain and whine about spells with no useful quality, are, indeed, in my honest opinion, assholes who need to shut the hell up.

I wanted Voice Graft also. Makes more sense for Enchanters to have it. Atleast more than Necros.
And as others have pointed out... this is a GAME. To have FUN in. You dont have to have a point to have fun.

Grow does not work at all on Ogres, I've tried to grow myself several times. I can cast Grow on a Halfling three times, though, which makes them about the same size as an Ogre (casted it on Delowen). Conversely, I can Shrink myself twice, which makes me around the same height as a Gnome.
