My dog is dieing... going to have to put her down. it really sucks. had her since she was a puppy. *is very depressed*

Oh god... I am so sorry. You have my utmost sympathy. My cat was two years older than me, she was there all my life. It absolutely killed me when I had to put her down...

I've had to do this, and it's a horrible feeling.

But, I've also seen what happens when someone won't do it, and their pet just keeps suffering.

Your friend needs one last favor from you, no matter how much you may not want to do it.

For what it's worth, you have my sympathies.

Had to do it to two cats. one mine one my grand parents, both lived a long time, mine 15 and grand parents 18. but this is when I was young so I have my current cat which is about 12-13 years. I'm waiting for the final word from the vet w/ my dog.

Sorry to hear that about your dog. Ive had to face that same thing twice. No dog of mine has EVER lived past 4yrs. They always caught something uncureably and unrecognizable by vets..and died days later. *sigh* Im hoping the same thing wont happen to the dogs and cat I now have..I love them too much to lose them to the same thing again.

Damn I FULLY understand how you feel. Had TR for 13 years and felt like a murderer when I took her to the Vet. But it was better than MAKING her suffer.

Doh. My cat is in with the vet today. He went blind a few weeks ago, and was having seizures yesterday and the day before.

My dog got a cancer in his nose that wouldnt let him smell, so I had to put him down.. That sucked a lot.

My sympathies, I've had dogs pass away before, it's hard.

I've had to do that, twice. I know how hard it is.

They were like part of the family, we even got them birthday and Christmas gifts. I really miss my labradors.

You know what I do when I loose pets? Write them a letter. Gets out all those emotions that you have, tells them how you feel.. You don't have to do anything with it. Keep it as a momento or just delete it.

Pets are family. I'm sorry you're losing your friend.

I remember my dog, Barney - a sheepdog-German shorthaired pointer mix. Dumbest dog on the planet, wasn't good at following orders, liked to raid the garbage cans, but his heart was in the right place, and he was fuzzy.

He was twelve in 1993 when we were told he had developed an enlarged heart-he'd been slowing down, but the last time I saw him on my birthday that year, he was fine- or better than he had been in a while.

Five days later, I was playing FF3, fighting Atma Weapon, I remember, when my brother came by with his girlfriend to tell me they'd just put him to sleep - he'd stopped eating, and when he turned his nose at a fresh-grilled hamburger my brother had made, he knew it was time.

I was mad (heck, I'm STILL mad) I never got to say goodbye. I hated my brother and my father for not giving me the chance... I'm not saying they did the wrong thing, but dammit, that was just wrong.

I dont think the proceedure at pounds of putting out animals is painful at all so maybe it would be better for you to take it there instead of killing it yourself.
