What do you play?
I also used to play the double bass. [ 10-07-2001: Message edited by: Adrecia ]
Now I'm a mean kazoo player.
I wish I could afford to buy a new one and start playing again.
Used to play the piano too.
I learned how to read guitar tablature so I could play a few songs on my acoustic guitar, which I bought JUST to play Silent Lucidity.
Also do some vocals, and I attempt to play acoustic guitar and piano, neither of which I'm good at

Bah, they just took the double bass idea from Metallica (who, as history often goes, probably took the idea from someone else. In doing so, they proceded to taunt them stating, 'Neener neener')
I've been playing set for about 4 years, snare for about 5 years, and piano (as well as marimba and xyliphone) for about 7 years... My father is a percussion teacher.

I, honestly, can't remember a band using a double bass before Metallica. Cliff was teh r0x0r.
(note: The only difference between an electric and acustic guitar is sound, all playing tecniquies are the same, and the music to read for them is the same. We just gennereally say we play both to try and impress people that don't know there is no real diference between the two)

Note there is no real difference between an electric guitar and acustic guitar. I play and own both. As well as an electric bass guitar. I'm also probably going to be getting an acustic bass sometime soon.(note: The only difference between an electric and acustic guitar is sound, all playing tecniquies are the same, and the music to read for them is the same. But it is harder to get up on the fingerboard for those high solo notes on an acustic.
I'm a trumpet player

Get an acustic with a cut out. Problem solved. But true you do have a point, course most acustics aren't made to handle that sort of thing.

First person I saw using a double bass kit was Alex Van Halen, he was touring with such a setup in '79.
