Topic: Our school was on the news twice tonight!

Well the first time was because of this really stupid fight and so on. The second thing was because of a teacher. This teacher is a very kick ass teacher. He is African American but very nice and he is one of those teachers that make you want to goto school. Well anyhow about 2 weeks ago this little preppy bitch that will do just about anything for attention said this teacher was sexually harrassing her but writing her love notes and what not. So she is sueing this teacher. She can not remember what she did with the notes and she has no proof, but the thing that gets me the most was in the interview when the channel 9 news came to our school and pretty much harrassed everyone in the Algebrea pod 5th hour, she said and I quiot "A African American male teacher should not hit on me. I'm only 15 and have my whole life infront of me and I really don't need this preasure." God what has the fucking world came to? This makes me want to cry. Coach Turner just started teaching and just got married. Why in the hell would he want to flirt with a ugly 15 year old like her? This pisses me off. Everyone knows he didn't do it. Hell the teachers even belive him. God I hate people.

Second part sucks though. Sorry. She's just trying to get riiiich.

Grammar is your enemy! - While being able to understand someone's sentences might seem like a good idea for a proper essay, complaining on a forum scarcely leaves time for such trivialities. Write fast! You're angry, grrr! Make that show, and forget about things like capital letters, punctuation, and verbs.

THat girl just proved how much of a petty bitch she is.

And that teacher, I'm sorry to say, isn't going to come out of this easily. Even if he's proven innocent, even if the whole damn world beleives he did nothing, he'll carry that stain for a while. If it's on the news and if the news shows in any large location, I'm sorry to say, he is first-class fux0red.

Sigh.

I hate it when these things happen to people they should never happen to.

As she is underage, the fault would be placed on her parents and they would be the ones sued.

As for Sol's point, yaes. That poor teacher will never live it down. However, neither will the girl, unless she moves to a whole different state and starts all over again... but it'd still be on her transcripts, etc.

I heard her name was Melissa.

It was kind of interesting, because the news said that he was writing notes to her that said "Do you want to lay me?" with two checkboxes, labeled 'yes' and 'no'. It said that she was called up from her desk and he gave her the note (Post-It Note). Said she was confused, or something like that, but she went back to her seat, and over the course of the hour, he eventually gave her 30 notes, all saying that.

I mean, like, WTF. I thought they'd at least try to be realistic about it. Someone said that he had 'turned himself in'..? Unh? I dunno.

I did think it was nice, though, how when all the kids by the news van finally peeled themselves away ("OMGZOMGZOMGZ CAMARA~~~~ NEWS 9 I WANNA B ON TV OMGZ~~~~") and got back to the bus line, the counselor said she hoped they had said only good things about Turner. So obviously she believes it's crap, too. I just thought that was neat.

P.S. Amber, why the HELL was there news about a fight at our school on the news? It couldn't have been the time that Neal or whatever kicked the living shit out of what's-his-face over a chick, because that was like two months ago. I know there was one near the Algebra wing today right before fifth hour, but Christ, nobody got their teeth kicked out that time, and there wasn't blood all over the cafeteria...or am I wrong? O_o

Also, he could possibly raise the point that she may be doing this because he's African-American. If she has a legal-beagle dad, or can buy the kind of lawyer that will win any case, she doesn't deserve to continue wasting our oxygen.

Snoota made his point quite effectively, and his paraphrase accurately highlighted the underlying meaning of the original phrase, couched though it was in P-C bullshit language.

There was nothing wrong with the word as he used it; it wasn't being used at anyone, or in a derogatory manner of any kind.

Snoota wasn't calling anyone a nigger, or using the term in a derogatory manner toward anyone but Psycho Pike. She might as well have used the word in her post, since her unfortunate word choice gave "African-American" essentially the same meaning.

Nor does "African-American" mean jack shit unless you emigrated here. And then, more properly, it should be either "naturalized American" or "Specific Country-American."

Race is a meaningless term, and people need to get over it. Which was Snoota's point. In case you missed the news when the human genome was decoded, the scientists who did it said there is no genetic basis for the concept or race.

BS: Or are you one of those who think that it's only racism if white people do it?

I'll be blunt.

Most of the African-Americans that I encounter that bitch about racism-this and slavery-that wouldn't know what EITHER was if it jumped up and bit them on the nuts. Some of the OLDER people remember racism, NONE remember slavery. The older folks who do remember racism don't seem to bitch as much these days. Wonder why that is? It's because there is no real racism today.

Here's the real world:

A White Guy, a Black Guy, and a Spanish Woman apply for a job. All 3 are equally qualified. All 3 are a good candidate for the position. Most likely to get the job? Depends on the environment they're going into. If company X has already reached it's "quota" for minorities, the White Guy stands as much chance as the Black Guy, with the Spanish Woman comming in as a second. If they're a little low on the "quota", it's the Black Guy, followed by the Spanish Woman and then the White Guy. And god forbid if they're REALLY low on "quota", because the Spanish Woman counts as *2* monority "points" (being female, and being a "non-caucasian").

This is what all thoes whiny bastards have brought us. Instead of looking at merits and other things companies have to consider this "quota" and worry about being sued senseless for turning down some one other than the White Guy. It's not fair, I don't think it's even proper, but it's the way things are. I've watched co-workers drop HINTS that they might be considering an Affirmative Action case, and management start doing anything they can, within reason, to avoid it. If I threatened to sue, as a white male, I'd probally be laughed at.

What I find even funnier... The use of the word "nigger". No one can use it to refer to anyone else, except black people. One black guy says "Whazzup muh niggah?" (line blatantly stolen from Rush Hour) to another black guy and it's ok. They can spout the word 873638753463873465875 in some rap song and it's ok (and don't get me started on the subject of "gangsta rap"). How can it be OK for some and not for others? How in the FUCK can that NOT be called racism when anyone else using the word gets smacked with a lawsuit?

I'm solidly with bloodsage on this one. Snoota has done nothing wrong, in fact, he's only been pointing out a wrong (which may have just been a typo, we'll know when Mad Psycho gets back on).

The word itself isn't something wrong, it's the ideas it represents, the off-hand denigration it stood for for so long. Would you object to the word being placed in a history book telling about the history of opression? No, because there the word is used to help inform people of a past wrong, and helping to prevent it from ever happening again.

Snoota was only working to call attention to a very bad attitude seen in the first post, he was working against the very off-hand denigration the word represents. Could he have used another word? Yes, but then his reply wouldn't have nearly the same power, his current post shows just how dangerous that attitude can be, far more than if he had used another word. He was working to destroy that attitude, not support it. I don't see why you have a problem with that.

RPC,

It's not quite correct to say that racism is dead, except that aimed at white males through affirmative action.

Here in the South, it's a whole different world.

I think it'll be another generation or three before people truly come to their senses.

~~~
Emil,
What did Snoota do wrong, exactly? Use a word you don't like? Get over it.
He didn't use it in any derogatory manner at all.
~~~

In general,

Anyone who hasn't already should look into the true history of slavery. It's an interesting story, and not all the bad guys are white.

Slavery, it turns out, is not something white dudes inflicted on black dudes. No European country raided Africa taking slaves. Roots, in short, got it wrong.

The vast majority of slaves shipped to Europe and America were captured by other Africans--sometimes deep in the interior--and brought to the coast for sale to Europeans. By the local African government.

None of it was done by force; it was by mutual agreement, usually.

Just a history moment.
