Perhaps it's that I've spent so much time playing First Person Shooters and seen so many people say things quite surpassing Blackjack's ramblings as far as incomprehensability goes, but I've come to find I care little about the spelling and grammar mistakes people make. It's not worth the time to compulse over.
Now, who looks like more of an imbecile...the shorthand aquainted noobie who haplessly arrives on the new boards posting a sensible enough topic or the elitist veteran who takes one look and a post, cites unwritten laws, and declares the afforementioned noob as beneath him, as beneath everyone, and most importantly of all, beneath the forums. BENEATH THE FORUMS, DAMN YOU.
It's true that some of the people who play the fast-paced action games type inane messages and go so far as to put down those who who spend the time to type their messages with accurate spelling and grammar. I can't honestly say that I see this as being much below the actions of some of the people in this thread, who defend their Internet territory by acting as if proper capitalization, spelling, and grammar easily pronounce their place in the superior caste of humanity.
Well, guess what, guys. At the end of the day, you're a well respected member...of some video game forum nobody's ever heard of.
I just felt the need to stop by and post this, seeing as Blackjack is a friend of mine and seeing some of these assholes rip into him for perverting their ever so holy ground of the net with his foul mouth.

On the contrary, Parcelan. Taran's made the exception. You and Tal both point out that you can't place a lot of faith in me and Rosa's judgement of Blackjack, but you don't address the fact that the owner, creator, maintainer, and administrator of the forums has no problem with Blackjack's presense, and moreso, happens to like the guy as well.
He may not be a Militia member either... he could be 7th Corps...
But, while what he said was harsh, it was not cool to bag on Blackjack either. He is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to game with. He always takes new players under his wing and trains them, even some young 'noob' from another outfit once, and helps them out. He is one of those people that may make the difference for someone going from de-installing PS out of frustration at it's intricacies to someone who was on their way to learning the game and enjoying it.
And the WoW idea sounds nifty. 
I would like to politely ask that you refrain from the shorthand typing when making a post, especally a long one. It makes it very hard to read.

I'll admit to flaming Somthor's newbie thread, but I can't remember a single newbie I've flamed in the past six months for anything at all. Hell, I usually ignore newbie threads entirely.

Typing everything out in "shorthand" (I guess you could call it that) makes you look extremely lazy, and makes it look like you didn't give enough of a damn to at least attempt to make your post coherant and readable for people just scanning through your post.
Believe it or not, I, for one, have problems reading shorthand, it's like it fucks up my normal reading speed, ya know? So, I for one, dislike shorthand, and almost never use it unless an acronym happens to be ten times easier to type out than the words themselves. (Example: lol, laughing out loud.)
Now, I don't get onto people for spelling. If you can spell the word out somewhat, and it doesn't look like gibberish, I, and others on the forum, can probably figure out what you're trying to say. But, really, is it that hard to add the letters y and o to your yous and yours? 
(And just saying something here, I don't agree with Parcelan's newbie rape. While I can understand not liking the shorthand, there is no need for flames to go flying around after ONE post from a guy.)

Not to say, however, that Parce's attacks on Blackjack were really warranted. Yes, shorthand is annoying as all hell, but we could at least be civil to the n00bs. Instead of outright flaming and calling him an idiot, perhaps politely asking him to refrain would be a better idea? Not that it matters now, the issue's over and what's done is done.

Judging by his last post, Blackjack can express himself coherently, if he wants too. And that's really all we're asking for. Well, that and maybe some good, high-quality pr0n perhaps. So it's not like we're being unreasonable here.
And let's face it, until we really get to know someone, how they type (content AND form) here is all we do to judge them. So if they come in here resplendant in their aura of looking like a "l33t d3wd", that's how they're gonna be percieved. And they have only themselves to blame for that.
