Beatrix is definitely a good character. And Faris was a bit rough around the edges, but I liked her quite a bit.

Yuffie was cute. AND she was underage. Cute doesn't necessarily mean you want to boink someone. I just thought Yuffie was funny to watch, fun to play, and the whole thing in the tower when she and her Dad fight in the end was hilarious.
Aeris was not cute. She was the one you could fall in love with. She didn't go around flashing her boobs or being silly. She was the sensible, intelligent, good-hearted one you were supposed to love.
Tifa was a pair of jiggling boobs who knew karate. Yay.

Selphie was the cute one. Kinda ditzy, but talented when she does fight, outgoing, energetic, and put her with Irvine and they make the classic annoyingly sweet couple.
Rinoa...the most ANNOYING FEMALE CHARACTER IN ANY GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED.
Quistis was FF8's Aerith, except hotter. I wouldn't classify her as "cute" because she's just too damned hot. Beautiful, intelligent, caring...plus she had all the traits guys eat up. Gyeh heh heh...

I don't like the italian-guinia whitetrash mullet jokes or the lazy mexican gold digger jokes either, but that doesn't stop people from saying them despite my vocal displeasure of said jokes and comments on the boards. I've dealt with far worse bullshit on these boards than one silly little joke.
The joke in question was also directed at a fictional, virtual computer game character.
Take it for what it is, poor taste or not. A joke.
