After working an average of 100+ hours a week for far too many years, I am finally taking a break to enjoy life and see the world. I'm currently traveling once or twice a month.

What does this mean to us vacationing Americans?

Means you need a travel visa, like we already do when coming to the US.

No biggie really. Visas are only denied if there's a risk you'll breach it.

It'll be a while before it's implemented, if at all, and it'll probably end up being an electronic system rather than one where you have to go to an embassy and do paperwork, so it should be pretty low threat.

What city? Might be able to fly by in a couple weeks when I have open plans.

At the very least I'll be at Spiel in Essen late October.

edit: On that note, Mort - I'll be in London from the 30th to the 5th.

Would it be over a period of time or per trip? Right now it's easy to fly from the states to the EU for under $350 a round trip if you have access to the right data. Adding fee and process for every weekend trip may make this no longer viable

Well... Essen. I basically live in walking distance of the venue the Spiel takes place.

Visas are usually valid for a period of time, with a limit how long you can stay, but it can vary, so you'll have to check.

I really don't think the EU is going to do anything very quickly, if at all.

I'm in the North East. A good five hours drive from London.

Pity it isn't the end of May as I'll be down there for MCM Expo.

All times are US/Eastern
