The thread view is no longer UBB; I route the URL to a brand new application instead. Posts you've already seen are highlighted blue, the HTML is actually modern HTML rather than the old table soup, it renders a page in around 30ms rather than the 300ms+ that was typical of UBB, there's JSON data available by adding &format=json to the URL, the user bar at the top actually works right (but doesn't show PMs yet), and other awesome stuff that will be enabled once some more changes that are in the works land.
What's new application? PHPBB? OMGWTFBB(Q)?

Haven't updated the thread list page yet, that's coming soon (maybe later today). And yeah, forum display name is used everywhere. Login username is only ever used for login.

Have you re-logged in since the forum changes started getting integrated? I (re)discovered UBB has case-insensitive passwords, and that led to some inconsistencies between the new code thinking you're logged in versus the old code thinking you're logged in.
Should be fixed now, but if you've still got an old login cookie it might still be fubar. A log out/log in should fix everything.
