So have you seen RHPS or are you as clueless as leckie claims?

What's your history with the RHPS? How many times have you seen it in the theater? Have you acted a part? What part? What's your favorite line?

I never saw the appeal in watching a musical performed by transvestites.

I believe I'm going to an RHPS production October, in Tucson. I will be dressed as Rocky.

I've only ever seen it on video cassette. Sadly, never in theatres or as a play, though they do put it on here once or twice a year at various locations.

If I were to be anybody I would probably be Riff-Raff.

I used to go every Halloween to the midnight showing of it. I never went in character. Although I did win a costume contest one year, I was dressed as a Harlequin. People were dressed in all kinds of Halloween costumes though.

Tim Curry has awesome legs, doesn't he?

I own the DVD and the soundtrack. I love it. I want to go in costume and see it sometime. My stepsister and a couple of her fellow med student friends went in costume last year. She makes an awesome Magenta.

Me, too. Sadly, though, all the funny interjections I learned in the '70s and '80s don't mean much anymore. Have heard a few funny updates, though.

I've seen the movie too many times to count, and the live theatre version several times. I've been in a couple of different casts at theatres around Atlanta.

I didn't make it all the way though before having to turn it off.

Yuck.

I own the DVD and soundtrack, but unfortunately never caught a live production, although I would love to go.

And my favorite part is the Time Warp. That was a cast party must back in high school for the musical actors. We got together and danced out the whole song. It was fun initiating those who hadn't experienced it yet into our fold.

They don't show it in the actual theater around here, but our local weird stuff convention does a showing or two every year. I've seen the movie, I've seen it live, and I don't really understand what all the hoopla is about. Its a funny movie, but I'm not sure how it got a cult following.

Tim Curry does indeed have fine legs, though.

Those who dance are thought insane by those who can't hear the music.

I didn't claim people were clueless Just... unaware.

Seen several screenings of it, went to a few drama groups presentations, also saw one of the shows on the 30th anniversary tour (Where my best friend copped off with one of the cast) and pulled off a fantastic Magenta costume one Halloween. No pictures of it survive though.

Mightion is officially not clueless.

Edit: And had a brilliant theme party for my housemate's birthday this year as well. Pictures are in existance but most are a bit rude and shall not be posted.

Another Edit: And met Patricia Quinn.

You're not supposed to watch it on DVD or video by yerself - you're supposed to see it at midnight in a college theater with your fellow stage crew members and bring your toast, your toilet paper, your newspaper, deck of cards, cigarette lighter... etc.

It's the audience participation that makes watching RHPS in such conditions what it is.
