That was a drastic example. That was the difference between compression factor 10 and factor 99. The original image is about 1MB. I was able to compress that to about 300k without losing much quality at all.
I was showing you the difference between compression, and resizing, because you apprently thought they were the same. Of COURSE I'm not asking you to compress them THAT much, but I'm sure you could find a balance between quality and filesize. I did easily enough.

The main picture is a scan of the Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence OST cover. I deleted some stuff and hodge-podged the Ghost in the Shell on top together from other scans of the album booklet.
